3 Ways to Style Blazers

Blazers have gradually worked their way out of just my work style and into my weekend looks. Here are three ways to style blazers for brunch, walking around town or just because you feel like it!
1. Matching set.

Matching sets make styling blazers WAY easier because you automatically know the pieces will go together well. The trick is, trying to ensure you don't look like you're going to/from work. My best advice to avoid this is to wear a top underneath the blazer that you wouldn't wear to work (i.e. the crop top pictured above) and avoiding typical work blazer colors like black, blue and grey. This set made me feel like Business Barbie and I loved it!

2. Mix & match with neutrals.

This look took some coordination as none of the pieces were designed to go together, however, by keeping everything within the same neutral color scheme, it was fairly simple once everything was laid out. The white blazer is great for spring/summer days and laying it over off-white/tan pieces really helped the jacket pop (which was the goal since that was the staple piece!). To get a similar look, try keeping your outfits within the same color scheme - so if you're wearing white, pair it with tan/off-white shades; if you're wearing blue, pair it with grey/various shades of blues; if you're wearing green, pair it with browns/various shades of green.

3. Casual with jeans.

To dress up jeans or dress down your blazer, pair them together! You can style this outfit with heels if you're feeling fancy or sneakers to look cool. Even better, find your blazer buried in the back of your mom's closet like the one I'm wearing here.
